国破山河在，城春草木深

The nation is broken, though mountains and rivers remain; the city in spring is overgrown with grass

空山不见人，但闻人语响

秦时明月汉时关，万里长征人未还

The same moon that shone in Qin, the same passes from the Han — soldiers marched ten thousand miles and have not returned

千山鸟飞绝，万径人踪灭

From a thousand mountains, birds have vanished; on ten thousand paths, human traces are gone

欲穷千里目，更上一层楼

If you wish to see a thousand miles further, climb one more floor of the tower
