The Lament of Autumn

玉簟秋 · Yù Diàn Qiū

Cheng Lei (丞磊) plays Yu Changxuan (虞昶轩), a warlord's son, the "young marshal", and Xu Ruohan (徐若晗) plays Ye Pingjun (叶平君), a girls'-school student, in a Republican-era romance set among the warlord households of the 1920s and 30s. Zhang Fengyi (张丰毅) and Xu Fan (徐帆) co-star; directed by Ju Jueliang (鞠觉亮). The title is borrowed from the first line of Li Qingzhao's ci poem 《一剪梅》, 红藕香残玉簟秋: the red lotus fades, the jade mat grows cold with autumn. Adapted from the novel by Ling Xi (灵希), one of her Republican-era trilogy; press reports say the drama softens the novel's tragic ending. Premiered October 12, 2026 on Hunan TV and Mango TV.
